From a ‘skilled storyteller who reminds the reader that faith can help us survive the ups and downs in life’ (RT Book Reviews), A Perfect Amish Romance is a moving and deftly told story that paints a heartwarming picture of the way love can empower us to become our very best selves.
Plot:
Aaron Coblentz has a secret—he’s been studying to take the GED to get a promotion at Zeiset’s Furniture Store. But he can’t let his Amish family know, not when his older brother left the faith to become English just a year ago. When Aaron asks the local bookmobile librarian for help, she arranges tutoring for him with a gut Amish woman named Kayla.
Kayla Kaufmann has a secret, too. After cancer took her mother’s life, her father fell into an ever-deepening depression, leaving Kayla with bills piling up and little hope of keeping their simple lives afloat. Unwilling to shoulder her burdens, Kayla’s long-time suitor broke her heart soon after. And yet, though she’s lonelier than ever, Kayla hasn’t given up on finding a caring beau like the ones in romance novels.
As the day of the test draws closer, Aaron and Kayla’s bond deepens during their study sessions, but will a four-year age difference unravel their courtship before it begins?
