WHAT LED YOU TO WRITE HIDDEN IN THE EVERGLADES?
I’ve always been fascinated with swamps, so when I was looking for a place to set my third book in Guardians, Inc. Series, I checked out the bayous in Louisiana and the Everglades in Florida. I decided the Everglades fit the book I wanted to write the best so I placed it there. It was fun do the research.
STARTING OUT, WHO WERE THE AUTHORS WHO INSPIRED YOU? WHO INSPIRES YOU NOW?
Some of the authors who inspire me are James Rollins, Terri Blackstock, Colleen Coble, Michael Crichton and many others. I particularly like suspense and adventure authors. Those are my favorite genres to read and write.
HOW DOES YOUR FAITH INFLUENCE YOUR WRITING?
When I write, I ask the Lord to inspire my words, to help me tell the best story possible. I want to honor Him. I wouldn’t be where I am without Him.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU KNOWN YOU WANTED TO BE AN AUTHOR?
I have always been a storyteller, but it wasn’t until my late twenties that I thought about putting my stories down on paper for others to read.
WHAT DO YOU HOPE THAT MOST READERS GET FROM READING YOUR WORK?
I hope my readers come away with a sense of hope when they read my stories. Although I often deal with serious social issues, I want readers to walk away with a positive feeling – that the Lord is there for them.
