What spiritual themes or ideas are played out in Never Let Go?

I love how one reviewer stated that God was never questioned in the story, but rather was simply always there. That completely reflects the most important theme in Never Let Go—that God is always there and always with us.

In one particular scene, Willow is in a desperate situation and she’s afraid for her life. She holds onto a rock and remembers her grandfather: She only felt his love for her—which she could still feel—and heard his whispers in her ear. Remember, Willow. The Lord is your rock and your fortress. He’s your savior. My God is my rock, in whom I find protection.

What can readers expect from future books in the series?

In book two readers will get up close and personal with Heath McKade, whom they met in book one, and they’ll meet a friend from his childhood who becomes his romantic interest. Their story will take the reader on a suspenseful ride filled with unexpected twists that surprised even me.

Next up is Liam McKade who is a dynamic character with a dark past he’s still trying to come to terms with. As of this interview, I’m still writing book three, and the story and characters are still unfolding.

What are the challenges of balancing elements of faith, romance, and danger in your novels? Which of these comes easiest—and which is hardest?

Since I prefer to let the faith elements and even the romance grow organically, the danger elements and the suspense plot is usually the hardest. After writing romantic suspense for years I have a pretty solid handle on balancing those elements and I know instinctively when I need to insert more suspense or more romance.

What do you consider the best ways for readers to support their favorite authors?

In this age of an ocean featuring free and deeply discounted book deals, the best way to support an author is to buy the book! Then if a reader enjoys the story, leaving a positive review can help authors to grow their audience. If we want to continue to see well-crafted stories, then I believe it’s imperative we support the creative efforts of writers by purchasing books.

Uncommon Justice #1
Elizabeth Goddard
Revell

As a forensic genealogist, Willow Anderson is following in her late grandfather’s footsteps in her quest for answers about a baby abducted from the hospital more than twenty years ago. The case may be cold, but things are about to heat up when someone makes an attempt on her life to keep her from discovering the truth.

Ex-FBI agent—and Willow’s ex-flame—Austin McKade readily offers his help to protect the woman he never should have let get away. Together they’ll follow where the clues lead them, even if it means Austin must face the past he’s spent much of his life trying to forget. And even if it puts Willow’s tender heart at risk.

In this fast-paced and emotional page-turner, bestselling author Elizabeth Goddard keeps the stakes high, the romantic tension sparking, and the outcome uncertain until the very end.
