What can you tell us about the Amish Brides of Birch Creek series? How are the books going to be connected?
Each book features a bride and their potential suitor. The second book in the series. The Farmer’s Bride is about Martha Detweiler, who we meet in The Teacher’s Bride, and Seth Yoder, who is the son of the bishop and made an appearance in Words From the Heart. The third book, The Innkeeper’s Bride, is about Selah Ropp, who is Christian’s sister, and Levi Stoll, who is a new character from The Farmer’s Bride. There will also be other characters from other series making appearances, like Cevilla Schlabach, and the bishop, Freemont Yoder.
How does this series intersect with your other series The Amish of Birch Creek and Amish Letters of Birch Creek?
All of the books are set in the fictional community of Birch Creek. The community, after experiencing years of oppression under a dishonest bishop, is now flourishing with new families moving in and new businesses appearing, while old ones are growing. The Birch Creek books are about the rebirth and growth of a community.
The next Amish Brides novel comes out this summer. What can we look forward to with The Farmer’s Bride?
Definitely some life lessons learned! The shortage of available single women in the community causes a problem for Martha, and she ends up dragging Seth into it—with Cevilla’s help, of course.
