[Editor’s note: Shortly after we published this article, Dee went to be with the Lord. We ask that you pray for her family and friends.]

When I need inspiration from the Lord, I seek specific stories from the Holy Bible and my huge library of Christian fiction novels. So when I was given this great opportunity with Family Fiction, I wanted to bring the blessings to you through a special book club. Let’s call it the Dear Blessed Book Club.

Dear Blessed,
From taking care of my family, doing a decent job at work and meeting my church duties, I’m exhausted. I need to simplify my life, but don’t know where to start. Advice?
—Dot P.

Dot, you need to be inspired by five great women. Like you, they have family obligations and high skill sets. What keeps them going is their faith.

1. Lisa T. Bergren’s Glamorous Illusions (David C. Cook):

Cora Kensington’s life on the family farm takes a dark turn when she learns she is the illegitimate daughter of a copper king who has come to claim her.

2. Victoria Christopher Murray’s Destiny’s Divas (Simon & Schuster):

Sierra, Raine and Liza, members of a new gospel group, Destiny’s Divas, sing to the world about how good God has been to them, but offstage, each is living a life totally opposite to what she preaches.

3. Kim Cash Tate Hope Springs (Thomas Nelson):

Becca Anderson has been recruited as the newest speaker of a large Christian women’s conference, but her husband feels called to become the pastor of his late father’s church in Hope Springs. Will small-town living affect her big ministry dreams?

4. Miranda Parker Someone Bad and Something Blue (Kensington):

Beautiful, brainy and tough-as-nails single mom and bail recovery agent turned sleuth Angel Crawford has a lot on her plate. Between crime solving and kindergarten carpool, it’s all in a day’s work…

5. Pamela Samuels Young Attorney Client Privilege (Goldman):

Hotshot L.A. lawyer Vernetta Henderson takes on a corporation with a long history of discriminating against women. While Vernetta simply wants justice for her clients, the corporation’s hired gun wants to win … and she doesn’t care how.
