Winter 2026 Poetry Contest
FamilyFiction presents our 2026 winter-themed poetry contest! Enter your haiku, sonnet (English or Italian), or free verse poem for a chance to win $50 in each category.
Submissions will be accepted February 17, 2026 through March 10, 2026.
Contest Rules:
You may submit up to one (1) poem in each category.
Original, unpublished work only (no AI-generated or previously published poems).
All poems must have a clear winter theme.
– Haikus must be exactly three lines (5 syllables/7 syllables/5 syllables).
– Sonnets must be 14 lines long. English and Italian variations are both accepted under this category.
– Free verse poems do not have to rhyme or may follow a rhyming pattern of the author’s choosing. They may not exceed 20 lines.
All poems must be family friendly in nature, with no cursing or vulgar imagery. If your poem if not submitted in the correct category, it may be disqualified. Winning poems will be posted on the FamilyFiction website and announced over social media and email.
