What can you tell us about the latest novel in that series?

My latest release is Cold Case, book four in the Cold Harbor series. I loved writing this story about Eryn Calloway, the team’s cyber security expert as I find everything computer related fascinating and actually pretty scary, too.

Former FBI cyber security agent Eryn Calloway worked many cyber investigations during her career as an FBI agent and while serving as Blackwell Tactical’s cyber expert. But when her computer is locked with ransomware, she suddenly finds herself facing the biggest investigation of all. Failure to solve the case and find the hacker could result in the loss of her very life.

Enter former Green Beret, deputy Trey Sawyer who offers to serve as her bodyguard. Trey has been in love with Eryn for a year, but she lost her husband several years ago and isn’t ready to open herself to the potential for pain again. She’s kept Trey at arm’s length and wants to do so now—after all, she can take care of herself. But she has a four-year-old daughter to protect, so Eryn reluctantly agrees to let Trey into her world.

When they’re thrown together in a race for her life, she has to combat both a vicious enemy—and the pain from her past. Is Trey trustworthy enough to let him into every area of her life, or is the risk too great?

What else are you working on right now?

I have two projects I am working on. First, I am finishing the edits on Taken in Texas, the last book in my McKade Law series for Love Inspired suspense. This is a heartwarming series about a family of law enforcement officers who also own a dude ranch in Texas. I have loved writing about this generous and warm-hearted family, and readers seem to like their wholesome take on life, too.

Second, I am writing Cold Fear, the fifth book in the Cold Harbor series. This is team sniper, Riley Glen’s story. His former girlfriend, recording artist Leah Kent, is performing at a summer concert nearby and calls to tell him she’s in danger and needs his help. After the concert, he discovers her bending over a girl’s dead body, and the girl has Leah’s name freshly tattooed on her wrist.

When two other bodies are found, both boasting Leah’s name in bright ink on their wrists, she comes under suspicion for the murders. Riley jumps in to defend her from both an imminent arrest and a killer’s deadly rage.

What are the best things readers can do to support their favorite authors?

Such a great question. The best way to support an author is to buy their books and then post a review on the online booksellers. And of course, tell their friends about the book. Word of mouth is so important in book sales.

Kill Shot
White Knights #2

FaithWords

As the ballistics and weapon’s expert for the FBI’s special task force nicknamed the White Knights, Rick Cannon has known the Department of Defense was developing self-steering bullets. Rick feared these smart bullets–which have one hundred percent accuracy that can turn even a novice into a lethal sniper–would eventually end up in the hands of the wrong people. But since the ammunition was still in the development stage, he figured they had plenty of time before that happened. He was wrong. Dead wrong.

When a homeless vet is killed with a smart bullet, it’s clear that the ammunition has been stolen, and the Knights are called in to find the thief and stop the killings. But they aren’t the only ones desperate to find the killer. Therapist Olivia Dobbs is well known for her success in counseling military veterans with PTSD. When she discovers one of her clients moments after he is murdered, she becomes both the FBI’s prime witness, and suspect.

Despite the mutual attraction that immediately sparks between them, Rick can’t–no he won’t–let Olivia interfere with his investigation. But when the sniper trains his rifle on her, Rick must recall all the skills he learned as a Marine sniper to make sure the next bullet fired isn’t a kill shot that takes Olivia out.
