Spies, Lies, and Alibis | A Rom-Com Between Undercover Agents

Spies, Lies, and Alibis is a contemporary rom-com featuring two undercover spies who are working on the same mission without realizing they are on the same team.

Main Themes

After a teenage misunderstanding, Ben and Cybil haven’t talked for years. Now, they meet again under the most suspicious circumstances. While the sparks are still there, they’re not sure if the other person is as deep in the pockets of dangerous criminals as they appear to be. As their missions escalate, so does the tension between them. If they’re not careful, their covers will be blown and their hearts will be hurt all over again.

It’s a classic rom-com with a clumsy female main character, buff male main character, and enough plot armor to save both of them from their dramatic antics. This light-hearted comedy is definitely written for the laughs and not the serious logistics of going deep undercover in dangerous situations.

Main themes include the the dangers of lying and the importance that trust plays in every relationship.

Faith Elements

Spies, Lies, and Alibis is clean, although it does not have any overtly Christian scenes.

Family Friendly Considerations

There’s plenty of fun action and spy scenes to delight teens and adults alike without anything being graphic or disturbing. Although the romance takes up a large portion of the book, it’s clean and kisses only.
