Shattered | Apocalyptic Fiction

The end times are well and truly underway in book two of The Vanished Series, a fictional foretelling of the prophesied end of the world.

Main Themes

John Haggerty is motivated by revenge. His only goal at the moment is to kill Mattias Wilks, the man who ordered the nuclear attack on America. The only issue? Abigail is convinced Wilks is the antichrist, which complicates John’s plan for revenge. When John is hired by Trident to help spread their propaganda, the allure of financial security in a world that is rapidly being turned upside down is proving to be stronger than Abigail’s repeated warnings about having to choose a side.

Some of the main themes include finding salvation before it’s too late, not giving into worldly temptations, and standing strong in your faith, even when the entire world tells you not to.

Faith Elements

Abigail’s faith is unwavering, even when she’s afraid, although John is still fighting to fully surrender his life to God. He’s slowly realizing what side he does not want to be on but has not yet made the decision to put his trust Jesus as his savior. As far as biblical accuracy, a lot of this book reads like a copy-and-pasted-but-with-modern-technology-and-less-books-in-the-series version of Left Behind, so do with that what you will.

Family Friendly Considerations

It’s a clean, apocalyptic fiction series. There is one particularly violent scene, showing the rise in antisemitism that will inevitably be a part of the end times, but other than that, this book is suitable for any adult or teenager.
