New Growth Press announces the upcoming release of Jesus Saves: The Gospel for Toddlers, due out March 1, 2021. Author Sarah Reju helps the littlest members of the family discover how and why Jesus saves. Using easy-to-understand, simple concepts, Reju offers a way for parents to teach the good news to children ages one to four.
Every generation needs to hear and believe the good news. Even the youngest children need to know, from the time they are in diapers, that there is a God who made them, loves them, and is calling them to turn from their sins and trust in him. The rhythmic, repetitive style of the story will make the content memorable for toddlers.
“As a mother of five, I’ve had countless conversations about God with our own children, and other children as well. I am very familiar with the types of language and images that resonate with babies and toddlers,” Reju explains. “I wanted to write a book that clearly explains the big truths of the gospel in a way that young children can understand. I would have loved to have a book like this to read to my own children when they were babies and toddlers.”
Each bright page of the board book, illustrated by Phil Schorr, includes a short Bible verse that reiterates the truth shared on that page and will help the child grow in the understanding of the Gospel and love Jesus. In the back of the book is a special section for parents that includes tips for explaining the gospel to young children. Jesus Saves is sure to help parents build a foundation of faith for years to come.

Its simple language and cadence are intended to help you share the gospel with the little ones in your life,” Reju writes in the section for parents. “So cuddle together, read, and re-read. Enjoy these years when your children delight in hearing the same story again and again and again. Take advantage of this time when your children love to learn and fill their hearts and minds with good truths from God’s Word, praying that over their lifetimes, the Lord will unpack those truths for his glory and their eternal good.”

Sarah Reju, MDiv, is a pastor’s wife and homeschooling mother living in Washington, DC. She is the author of God Is Better Than Trucks and God Is Better Than Princesses. Sarah and her husband, Deepak, have five children.
About the Illustrator:
Phil Schorr resides in southern California with his family, where he tells stories through visual mediums. He has always been fascinated with mid-century design and the use of bold yet imperfect geometric shapes. As an art director and visual designer, he brings his influence of music, animation, and global stories into his work. He has the privilege to do what he does because of the love and support of his wife, Joelle and his wildly adventurous kids.
