Lori Walburg’s classic Christmas story The Legend of the Candy Cane is back with a fresh, new look.
“The candy cane is a favorite— and ubiquitous!—Christmas candy, one that children particularly enjoy,” Walburg says. It is also “the perfect object lesson for many of the essentials of the Christmas story: Jesus Himself, of course; the shepherds, who were some of the first to worship Him; and the ultimate meaning and purpose of Christmas—that Jesus came to sacrifice Himself for us.”
This new edition from Zonderkidz is illustrated by Richard Cowdrey, who also illustrated one of her daughter’s favorite series. “I’m honored to have the book illustrated by (him),” Walburg said.
