Freiling Publishing is partnering with director and film producer Brett Monk to transform the Christian movie series Mount Hideaway Mysteries into a young adult fiction trilogy. The first book in the series, Breaking and Entering, released in February and zoomed to #1 on Amazon for new releases.
Tom Freiling, CEO of Freiling Publishing, and Mount Hideaway Mysteries director Brett Monk unveiled the full scope of their partnership and joint book project at the Christian Filmmakers Association Conference in Dallas, Texas, on February 2-5, 2021.

The groundbreaking partnership between Freiling Publishing and filmmaker Brett Monk launches the Mount Hideaway Mysteries trilogy for young adults at a time when families are looking for family-friendly media as they spend more time together at home due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Mount Hideaway Mysteries premiered its first movie on Amazon Prime in 2018 with Mount Hideaway Mysteries: Exes and Oh No’s. Freiling Publishing will later adapt this as the second book in the trilogy. Monk’s film captured the praise of parents with its Christian values, family-friendly mystery, moments of comedic relief, and strong role models and female-lead characters.
Book Summary:
