Award-winning author Lynette Eason weaved together sweet romance, loyal friendships, and exciting mysteries in this suspense novel. Old friends were reunited and new friends joined the close-knit group of Lake City Heroes in this fourth installment of the series.

Riveting Mysteries
A plane hijacking. A car crash. Busted covers. Someone is targeting the group of heroes, but each of the accidents aren’t adding up. Who is the target? Who is the enemy? As soon as they think they have a promising lead, a spray of bullets comes from a new angle. Nothing is for certain, which keeps the reader hooked until the final chapter.

Clues come in all shapes and sizes, as characters have to stay vigilant in the present while confronting treacherous memories from the past. It’s an intriguing mystery for sure!

The Complexity of People
Relationships are messy in the real world, and these fictional characters aren’t spared from these harsh aspects of life. Air Marshal Kristine Duncan, our courageous heroine, loves her family. She is also the only of her siblings who can tolerate her controlling father and his unrealistic expectations for his family. But as one thing leads to another, she starts to wonder how much longer she can put up with his suffocating presence.

Cutting him out of her life seems drastic, and she struggles with wanting to respect him as her father and protect her career and sanity. Will she be forced to choose between the career she loves or the family she cares deeply about? She won’t be able to put off the decision for much longer.

FBI Special Agent Andrew Ross is reunited with a former best friend who he had pushed away after a tragic workplace disaster. Hurting and lost, Andrew isolated, trying to cope with the painful memories alone. Now, he has a chance to renew that friendship – if he’s willing to let people get close again.

Having friends can be a risk on both an emotional and physical level in his line of work, but he’s quickly discovering that the danger of not having anyone to watch his back is far worse.

Watching Kristine and Andrew discover that their feelings of affection is a wonderful and lighthearted addition to this action-packed novel. They both have baggage, but instead of pushing the other person away, it helps them appreciate each other on a deeper level.

And when memories come back to life in real and unpleasant ways, they realize that they can’t run away from their demons forever.

Family Friendly Considerations
“Family friendly violence” seems like a bit of an oxymoron, but parents of enthusiastic readers have nothing to fear from Final Approach. The action is not gory or graphic. The romance is clean, with only a few hugs and kisses. Kristine and Andrew first get to know each other as friends, with an emphasis on loyalty, honesty, and being supportive.
