Last year, Diane Stortz received an unexpected birthday gift. That was when she received the call from Zonderkidz, the publisher of her book The Sweetest Story Bible, telling her they planned to do a deluxe version with audio read by Roma Downey, star of the beloved “Touched by an Angel” television series.
“When my sample copy came a few weeks ago,” Stortz says, “and I heard Roma’s voice reading first the title page and then my stories, I got chills and I teared up.”
In selecting which stories would appear in The Sweetest Story Bible Deluxe Edition (Zonderkidz), illustrated by Sheila Bailey, Stortz looked for stories that would “help little girls get to know God,” because “God’s Word is sweet when we know the Speaker!”
