Book Summary:
A mysterious doll, a hidden treasure, and a ghostly knight haunting an old castle. The Flaugherty twins don’t plan to be detectives, but mysteries seem to find them. And they are never ones to turn down a challenge.

Mystery at the Haunted Castle is a wholesome whodunit for “tween-agers,” children 10-13 years of age, and is the first in a series of mystery stories that feature brother and sister twins, Pat and Patty Flaugherty (pronounced flair-tee), as the main characters.

Their first adventure, Mystery at the Haunted Castle, involves a mysterious doll everyone seems to want, a legacy involving a cipher, and a haunted castle in France. Step by step, they work to solve the mysteries, all while trying to help a newfound friend. Nothing will stop them from learning the truth, even an encounter with the ghostly Silver Knight!

In each book of the Flaugherty Twins Mystery Series, the twins will encounter circumstances that befuddle the authorities, but with teamwork, the teens unravel the mysteries and get to the bottom of things. Pat is headstrong and quick to act, sometimes before he thinks about the consequences of his actions. Patty is the practical one and her keen eye for observing detail often sees what others miss.

About The Author

Paul McDonald has had the desire to write ever since that day in 9th grade English class when his teacher asked him to write a short story illustrating an object lesson. Once the story was committed to paper, there was no turning back. He has published his first novel Mystery at the Haunted Castle in July 2022. This is the first in a series of children's mystery stories featuring the Flaugherty twins, Irish Catholic teens who solve mysteries.
