Mary Sandford's first published work, a poem, appeared in the Future Homemaker's of America magazine while she was attending high school. After finishing school, Mary concentrated on her seven children. Once her youngest started school, she had more time to spend on her writing and joined the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) attended conferences, numerous workshops and several writing courses. During that time Mary had more than 60 stories published and some of her work earned SCBWI awards. Now, the nest is empty, but all that time focusing on her own children filled Mary up with stories to write. And her 18 grandchildren keep the ideas multiplying. She loves to travel and often her trips include visiting the grands. Mary's goal as a writer is to live and work for Jesus Christ, so more children will know Him and want to serve Him with their lives.
