Billie Houston and her daughter Carlene Havel write Christian romance novels. Both are graduates of the University of Texas at San Antonio. Discovering Emily is their first collaborative effort, although both have previously worked with a co-author on other books. Billie’s venture into Christian romance began when her husband of many years fell victim to Alzheimer's. She writes romantic tales about relationships, stories that explore the problems and pleasures of living a Christian life. The plots revolve around ordinary people caught in extraordinary circumstances and faced with difficult decisions. Carlene Havel has lived all over the world, courtesy of the Air Force. In 2005, she became a believer in Jesus Christ as the Savior of the world. Along with everything else that changed, she developed a passion for writing. Her stories tell of faith, hope, and love.
