Stolen artwork, fleeing Nazis and the French resistance all feature in Chasing Mona Lisa (Revell Books), from prolific authors Tricia Goyer and Mike Yorkey. Mike enjoyed incorporating little-known facts in the tale. “Many people do not know that the famous Louvre Museum in Paris started packing up its treasures, including the Mona Lisa, Venus de Milo, and Winged Victory at Samothrace, a few days before the start of World War II when Hitler invaded Poland on September 1, 1939. The Mona Lisa, the most famous painting in the world, apparently moved six times during the war and was even hung up in a girl’s bedroom at a chateau in southern France.”
